The Kach It Project Takes New York

Pop Up Africa in partnership with New York based celebrity fashion stylist, Kanayo Ebiwhose clients include the likes of Angela and Vanessa Simmons launched her second instalment of The Kach It Project, a series of pop-up events in Manhattan.

               

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Following a successful launch in London last March, The Kach It Project (NYC Edition) featured a collective of fashion forward and groundbreaking designers and brands from ready-to-wear to haute couture clothing and accessories, inspired by African and contemporary influences, in an exclusive two-day shopping and lifestyle experience in the historical neighborhood of SoHo, Manhattan at the Manhattan Brew and Vine.

Participating brands included: the Kach Me If You Can Showroom designers Prelim and RAAAH/Rahima Mohamed Couture in addition to the events’ featuring designers Ago Watch, Angelica Curtis, Deucxe, Ezie, Gregriang, LA Luxe, Muehleder, Pop Caven, TAJE, The Anonymous Vintage (T.A.V) and Winner Clothing; plus live customized art by Chermia Amour, an African dance class by Afrobeats Dance NYC and food and drink by Full Of Goodness, My Sweet Justice of Harlem and Yummy Tummy’s.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Attendees also enjoyed an exclusive two-hour panel discussion and brunch exploring the road to success with celebrity stylists Kanayo Ebi and Misa Hylton, singer and actress Estelle, author and entrepreneur Jai Hudson, former Miss Teen USA/beauty blogger Kamie Crawford, fashion designer Larissa Muehleder, artist Chermia Lucas and celebrity photographer Noemad, in an intimate conference titled “Kach Your Dream”. Also in attendance was Angela Simmons.

Sponsors included Erase Spa, Full Of Goodness UK, My Sweet Justice of Harlem and Yummy Tummys.

The Kach Me If You Can Showroom by Nigerian celebrity stylist Kanayo Ebi aims to bridge the gap between new and emerging designers with those already in the industry, and those interested in authentic and contemporary groundbreaking fashion forward designs through the use of PR, branding and styling. Kanayo has worked on campaigns for the likes of Coca Cola, the BET Awards and Foofi & Bella

Pop Up Africa is a UK based, Africa-inspired Pop-Up events and consultancy company formed out of Jessica Laditan’s desire to make African brands more available on the international market. Since its launch in 2013 Pop Up Africa has seen stallholders take their brand from pop up stalls to the shelves of well-known UK stores including Tesco and Selfridges.
